1.) What is your martial status?
Married
2.) Tell us about where and how, you grew up:
I was born in LaFollette TN,
though I often refer to the nearby Jellico as my hometown since I spent more time
there. I grew up as a bit of a nomad. We were always moving around it
seemed. The place I loved most as a child, would have to be "the creek", actual name, Stinking Creek. It's an area between LaFollette and Jellico. It was a terrific place for children. I spent most of my time racing through the woods and fighting imaginary battles with my brother and cousin.
3.) Are you currently working on something now?
Yes. I'm working on the fourth
installment of the Scepter Series, "Flight of the Dragon" as well as few other stand
alones. The one I'm really excited about is "Death Spiral", a paranormal thriller.
What do you like to read: Horror, Paranormal anything, Historical anything and thrillers.
5.) What is your favorite sound?
Well I guess it would have to the be
night sounds of frogs and crickets.
6.) Who is your favorite person?
I have three: My husband, Jason and my two beautiful daughters, Jessica and Amy.
7.) Where is your favorite place?
My porch at night.
8.) What is your favorite memory?
That's a difficult one, I have three of those as well. My wedding day and the birth of each of my daughters. My husband and I
got married at Cove Lake Park in Caryville TN by the lake. It was
beautiful. The births of my daughters are right up there with the memory of my wedding, but I'll spare you the details lol.
9.) What is your favorite writers' quote and why?
Lol well I guess it would have to be something my very talented pal Karen M. Nutt once said: Anyone who thinks writing isn't work has never written anything other than school reports.
10.) What is your most favorite quality about yourself?
Hmmm, I guess I'd have to say my
degranged sense of humor and love of studying.
11.) What is the least favorite quality about yourself?
I am way too sarcastic
12.) If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
To answer that
I'd have to do numerous mathamatical calculations regarding the most possible
distance between myself and my mother's gripe list. (see answer regarding least favorite quality)
13.) What inspires you to write?
The question: What if? I seem to ask that question over and over again with everything I see. All my stories have come about from asking myself "What if?"
15.) What is your favorite genre?
Horror
16.) What do you think makes a writer successful?
The ability to connect with readers.
17.) What is it that makes 'you' successful as a writer?
I'll let you know when I get there.
18.) What are your goals as a writer?
Basically, just to provide an escape.
19.) What is the best tip you can give to fellow writers?
Don't give up. Learn from every single edit and strive to make each book better than the last.
20.) What do you hope to provide your readers with through your writing?
An escape from day to day life.
21.) How long did it take you to write your book(s)?
It normally takes me about 5-6 months, on some it's longer due to just plain old
writer's block.
22.) What would you do differently if you could repeat the same publishing experience?
Oh man, do not get me started lol. Honestly though, I'm not sure I'd change anything, I mean my choices led me to where I am now.
23.) What have you learned about the publishing world?
That no amount of pay in the world
could get me to be an editor. Seriously, editors get the short end of the stick,
they deal with insane amounts of crap.
24.) This is your chance to 'Talk Back' to your readers. What would you like to say to them?
Thank you, though that doesn't seem to cover it. What else can you say to readers? Without them, I'd be sitting here doing something else.
25.) What's the one thing that you want people to know about your writing?
It's fiction. I've gotten mail regarding my books that at times blows my mind. Seriously guys, it is fiction.

4.) What do you like to read?
I honestly don't like to read, but I do it anyway. Mostly as a service to other authors, and to edit my own stuff.
5.) What is your favorite sound?
The mantra of the ocean, the swishing of pine trees with the breeze, and on occasion, the sound of the falling rain.
6.) Who is your favorite person?
Tough one. It all depends on who's on my good side on that particular day.
7.) Where is your favorite place?
The mountains- Disney World, and sometimes a comfortable bed.
8.) What is your favorite memory?
Age 8, jumping into a pile of 7 foot snow.
9.) What is your favorite writers' quote and why?

10.) What is your most favorite quality about yourself?
I always try and find the good in any situation.
11.) What is the least favorite quality about yourself?
I'm not rich.
12.) If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Ireland- to find my lost roots.
13.) What inspires you to write?
Those little voices inside my head.
15.) What is your favorite genre?
Horror, but not the blood and guts kind. I like the supernatural stuff.
16.) What do you think makes a writer successful?
Determination, a willingness to accept failure, and the soul to keep trying.
17.) What is it that makes 'you' successful as a writer?
It's what I am and what I shall always be.

To become rich and famous... what else? Okay, so maybe not, but I would like positive recognition, and to think that someone out there is waiting for my next release.
19.) What is the best tip you can give to fellow writers?
If your destiny is to write, then do it, and if your work is criticized, make it better. Read what you write and edit, edit, edit. Write what you feel, but if you're writing for others, write what they'll want to read.

Well the first book I started was back in 1991- it still isn't done, but since then I've completed 15 titles. How quickly I get them done depends on which way my mind is turning and how much time I have to work on them.
22.) What would you do differently if you could repeat the same publishing experience?
Not go with my original publisher. Enough said.
23.) What have you learned about the publishing world?
Oh it's tough out there. If you write to get rich then chances are you won't be happy, but if you write because it's inside of you, then it won't matter. (Much)
24.) This is your chance to 'Talk Back' to your readers. What would you like to say to them?
Be gentle. Those who write are expressing something inside of them, and it's far easier to say nothing than to say something bad. It's not easy to write someting worth reading.
25.) What's the one thing that you want people to know about your writing?
Insanity is all in the mind.

Too much to list. A few things: Do your research! Take your time, and don't be too afraid of what others might think of your work. A man once said to me, "You write children's books?" This one is going to be easy to answer. My favorite memory is of my children being born. Their little hands, their innocent faces; all so perfect in their love, their looking up at me in wonderment, needing me to love and take care of them. To me the birth of my children was the most memorable time in my life, as with my marriage to my wonderful husband, and my salvation.
9.) What is your favorite writers' quote and why?
I have many favorite writers. First of all I would pick Karen Michelle Nutt. She writes so perfect and I love the plots of her stories. I fell that I am in them. My favorite book by her is "Into the Mist of Time" There is so many that I can not really name all my favorites, but if I had to just pick my top one, I think I would pick Karen Michelle Nutt.
10.) What is your most favorite quality about yourself?
My favorite quality about myself is that I am caring, honest, dependable and trustworthy.
11.) What is the least favorite quality about yourself?
My least favorite quality about myself is that I am my worst critic. I judge myself too harshly. It drives me crazy at times. I have that perfections complex that is that I must have everything in order and I want it to stay that way.
12.) If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would love to go to Scotland. I have always wanted to visit there; the highlands, the ocean, the cliffs, the castles and the heritage. It is just a place of bravery, more simple times, and it reminds me of the past in which I wish I could have lived.
13.) What inspires you to write?
My husband and my children always inspire me to write. Most of all I feel if it was not for them I would never have decided to get my work published.
14.) What is your favorite book and why?
Most people will find this answer old fashion and simple but it truly is my favorite book. "The Expositor's Edition Holy Bible" I find peace, hope, love, faith in these WORDS. It is my instruction book to life, it shows me the way when I don't see now way. It sheds a light in all my dark places in life; It shows me mercy and kindness. It grants me wisdom and knowledge. It is my resting place.
15.) What is your favorite genre?
My favorite genre is one that has many compiled within its pages. I love books that have it all, Romance, Fictional Fantasy, Action, Adventure, and Inspirational.
16.) What do you think makes a writer successful?
Endurance, that is the key. If you have the endurance to precede with your dream anything is possible. Being a successful writer is hard, you must do a lot of searching either for an agent, a publisher, and most of all you must have the Endurance to write, to examine, to change, and to proceed.
17.) What is it that makes 'you' successful as a writer?
My endurance, I will never give up. I will always search for those that are interested in my work and promote, promote and promote my work. It is always good for a reader to know that they can get a response from the author in a personal since or other. I always try to respond in a personal letter to my readers when they write me. When one company; weather it be publishing or agent turns me down, I do not give up, I keep on looking for the one that will take my work and polish it to its finest shine.
18.) What are your goals as a writer?
My goals as a writer are to write something that has never been written before, and share it with the world, to leave a legacy behind for my children and their children and for generations to come.
19.) What is the best tip you can give to fellow writers?
Never give up, never say die. Always look for the one that will enjoy your work. Keep your hope and your dreams alive. If you believe it then God can do it. Writing is the hardest but most fulfilling business I have ever been in. You must go over your work, time and time again. You will always find something that need to be fixed. Finding an agent or a publisher is also another impossible task, but it can be done. You must hold on to the endurance and faith which you have. Keep on searching for the company that will accept your work.
20.) What do you hope to provide your readers with through your writing?
Faith, Endurance, Hope, Inspiration and to know that no matter what life throws at you, you can always make it through it, you can accomplish what ever you set your mind to, nothing is impossible.
21.) How long did it take you to write your book(s)?
1. "The Burning Bush" published in 2005 by Publish America. You can purchases this book through any online stores. 2. "Soulful Ink: Faith in the Cross of Christ" published in 2006 by Publish America. You can also purchase this book on all or most of the online bookstores. 3. "Naked Heart" published by me, it is a self published work. It is available on LULU.com this book was published in 2007. 4. "The Linking Stones: A New Beginning" was published in 2007, also published with ISBN# in 2008 through myself. It is available now at LULU.com and will soon be available through almost all the online stores. It will be listed in a few more weeks. Note: I think I have found an agent for this book, so it may be coming off the shelves and into a well know publishing company in which will promote for me. This book is the first book in a trilogy. "The Burning Bush" took me two years to write, "Soulful Ink" one year, "Naked Heart" just a few months, and "The Linking Stones: A New Beginning" has taken me only a year to write.
I am previously writing "The Linking Stones: A Novel Journey" now. It is the second book to "The Linking Stones trilogy".
22.) What would you do differently if you could repeat the same publishing experience?
I would not have published through Publish America; I would have searched for agents then have them to submit it to Publishing Company.
23.) What have you learned about the publishing world?
If it seems to go to be true it is, if it seems to easy, then there is something behind it. Just like publishing with Publish America. I did not know that they publish every work that comes their way, I thought they only published good works, they also publish works with so many grammar errors it is unreal.
To find a good agent that gets paid only when you get paid is a long process, To find a High standing publisher to take your work, or even take the time to look at your work it must be submitted through an agent first.
It is a dog eat dog world out there, but if you have the endurance to keep on walking, keep on searching, and keep pressing in you will find the right place to be. You can make it only if you strive to do so.
24.) This is your chance to 'Talk Back' to your readers. What would you like to say to them?
First of all my poetry is my soul poured out upon the pages of life, only in a visible form you can see it, but to understand it you must look at it with the eyes of your soul.
My first novel, which is a three part series hold many secrets within the pages. You will find a number reference too many secret truths, which is not really a secret, but only forgotten.
I want to tell each and every one of my readers, Thank you. I truly appreciate you, if it was not for you, I would have no reason to write. A writer is only successful, because of their readers and fans. Most readers are just people that buy and read books to many authors, but readers to me are the foundation of the Book World.
I also want my readers to know that when I write, I try to place things within my books that you can relate to. I want you to see that all things are possible only if you believe. No mountain, is to high to climb; No River, is to wide to swim, There is no sky in which you can not fly, There is nothing that you can not do, if only you believe. And always remember that "Through the fire of Life, you are refined; but by your faith you are defined".
25.) What's the one thing that you want people to know about your writing?
I want people to know that my writing is fictional, but also hold truth within its pages. I want them to know that in my trilogy novel that I am working on now holds real keys to life. Though the story itself is fictional, the characters are based on real people. It is a spiritually battle we all go through written into a physical drama for you to visualize with your soulful eyes. It is compiled with every genre you can think of; it is the completion of life in a Dramatized form. It holds our problems, and the answers to our problems. It is only for you as the reader to find the message that lies deep within the pages, that has been written just for you. In the trilogy "The Linking Stones", it holds the faith that links every human being together and what will continue to link each one together till the end of time, and through eternity. So please come find the link that binds us together.

More about the Author
1.) What is your martial status?
Single
2.) Tell us about where and how, you grew up:
- I was born, bred, and raised in Riverside, California. I have never lived anywhere else. I grew up in a house my carpenter father and my mother built. We also lived in a mobile home park and then moved to a house that was closer to my then job at the YWCA. I grew up between two brothers but I also have three older sisters.
3.) Are you currently working on something now?
I have a pre-teen book in the works. It's ready to go, but I haven't published it yet.
4.) What do you like to read?
I like westerns, Victorian romances, some mysteries, and romance novels, and science fiction like Star Wars.
5.) What is your favorite sound?
Huh?
6.) Who is your favorite person?
I adore Kevin Costner. Six of my books are written with him in mind.
7.) Where is your favorite place?
I love both the mountains and the ocean.
8.) What is your favorite memory?
Right now it's of my mother who just passed away in February. She is sorely missed.
9.) What is your favorite writers' quote and why?
I read this little poem once, but I have no idea who wrote it: How easy the breath that kills the flame, how hard it is to light again, cold words kill while kind words kindle, by words with held, a dream may dwindle.
10.) What is your most favorite quality about yourself?
I consider myself a very loyal friend to others. I am honest. I will keep your secrets for you. I will gladly encourage you to reach your highest peak.
11.) What is the least favorite quality about yourself?
The phobias I have developed in the years of being a caregiver.
12.) If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
First it would be Ireland, because I am partly Irish and I love everything about it. I would also love England because I'm fascinated with the English history and monuments and their accents.
13.) What inspires you to write?
It's tremendous therapy. It's like playing God. The bad guy gets zapped and you feel so good about taking care of the scum!
14.) What is your favorite book and why?
I really, really enjoyed The Far Pavilions by MM Kaye. It is so incredibly written that I'm envious.
15.) What is your favorite genre?
I love westerns but also Victorian romances.
16.) What do you think makes a writer successful?
Knowing a lot of what they're writing about. Research makes all the difference in the world. Also constructing a proper manuscript. It cannot be sloppy. That's a turnoff. Also the beginning must grab you in an instant or you're more than likely dead in the water.
17.) What is it that makes 'you' successful as a writer?
I'm not sure I've reached that title yet. Give me time.
18.) What are your goals as a writer?
To keep it fun and interesting, a variety and not the same genre hacked to death over and over.
19.) What is the best tip you can give to fellow writers?
Don't submit anything unless you have edited it to perfection. If you have to read and re-read the manuscript 100 times, do it so that you catch your mistakes before a reader does and thinks you're a total incompetent. Rewrite as much as needs be. Eliminate whatever seems like trivial excess.
20.) What do you hope to provide your readers with through your writing?
A fun and different adventure. Whether it is in outer space or on an African safari or panning for gold, I want the reader to enjoy the experience as much as I enjoyed creating it for them.
21.) How long did it take you to write your book(s)?
Several of my books were already written by hand in notebooks. As I began to transcribe them in Word Perfect, I would rewrite as I went along. However, Marble Halls Book II and Halloween Is A Scream, and Secrets Under Ancient Stone were written as I sat at my computer, a real first for me. I found it to be somewhat easier that way than jotting it down in a notebook. Some of them took months to write.
22.) What would you do differently if you could repeat the same publishing experience?
I would never let Publish America touch my work. The cover for my Accidental Outlaw is terrible and doesn't match the true theme of the western book at all. They wouldn't change it, so I'm stuck. While I like the cover of Just A Little Love, there are a few mistakes in it that I asked to be fixed and was refused. Also, I feel that 8% royalties is nothing but plain robbery. They keep 92% and that's really not fair. They would have no book at all to publish if authors didn't give it to them. I've said this at their site and have paid for saying as much.
23.) What have you learned about the publishing world?
It's one tough gig. You are virtually a needle in a haystack. You must work hard at promotion and you practically have to do it all by yourself.
24.) This is your chance to 'Talk Back' to your readers. What would you like to say to them?
Read mine first!!!! Just kidding, but read what interests you. Encourage your children to read as much as they can. And if they show an interest in writing, by all means encourage them to. Give them a dictionary for a present. Give them a thesaurus (be sure to make it clear that it's not some strange undiscovered dinosaur). Find an interesting picture from a magazine and have them write a paragraph describing what they see. You will see the creativity bloom.
25.) What's the one thing that you want people to know about your writing?
That I have 8 books out there. Some are being ignored, such as my second book, Just A Little Love. I'm trying very hard to create products that will be likeable and once you've read it, you will say, "That was good."
